A tool that proves a file existed on a given date and has not changed since. The file's fingerprint is anchored in the Bitcoin blockchain and you receive a proof file (.ots).

To be clear: we previously wrote that the basic service would stay completely free; on 2 November 2026 we changed our pricing to this model. Send the original file and the .ots together by email, or on WhatsApp as a “document”. Sending it right away, before any dispute, makes it stronger: the other side was informed on that date.

Your original is untouched. But apps like WhatsApp or Instagram compress photos sent as “photos”, so the copy the other side receives will not match. Send it as a “document/file” instead.

An edited file is a new file and will not match the old proof. Never change the original; prove the edited version separately if you need it.

You can prove the same file again, but the new proof shows a new date; the old date is lost. Keep the original and the .ots in at least two places (phone + email or cloud).

It can be submitted as evidence; the court decides its weight. It does not replace a notary or a qualified electronic timestamp. In the EU, eIDAS (Article 41) says an electronic timestamp cannot be refused solely for being electronic; Chinese internet courts have accepted blockchain evidence since 2018.

Notaries and qualified timestamps give a legal presumption but cost money and may require showing the document to an institution. File Proof is affordable, instant and private; it gives strong, independent evidence rather than a legal presumption. For critical matters, use both.

The expert writes the report's fingerprint to the GEPARA registry, paying 1 GEPARA per record, half of which is burned. The report itself is not published. Anyone with a copy checks it for free on the home page.
