Proving a used car's condition at handover

Most arguments after a used-car sale are about the car's condition at handover: a scratch, a dent, the mileage or a warning light. Recording the handover in five minutes protects both sides.

What to shoot at handover

  1. An overview from all four corners, with the number plate.
  2. Every panel, wheel and tyre, with close-ups of existing scratches and dents.
  3. The dashboard with the ignition on: mileage, fuel, warning lights.
  4. Interior: seats, headliner, boot, spare wheel.
  5. Every page of the inspection report, if there is one.
  6. The moment the documents and keys change hands.

Prove the photos that day

Drop the photos into the Handover pack on the File Proof page at handover. The photos never leave your phone; only their fingerprints are anchored in Bitcoin. Send the pack list and .ots file to the buyer or seller the same day.

This does not replace the sale contract or an inspection report. It does not prove who took the photo or where; courts weigh it as supporting evidence.
